About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) are recruiting for a Facilities Operative to join the team. You will be required to work as part of the team responsible for the daily upkeep and management of the facilities in and around the office. You must be able to work not only as part of a team but under your own initiative and be flexible in your approach when undertaking specific tasks. You must be flexible to work out of hours should the need arise.

You will be based in the Post Room where you will be responsible for general post duties, as well as maintenance tasks across the building. You must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills to provide the best service to the business.

What you'll be doing

Ad hoc facilities tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing toilets, fixing door handles, paint touch ups, emptying bins, helping employees with Facilities issues as and when they arise
Basic Repairs and Maintenance Tasks
Assisting with desk moves (may require out of hours work)
Collecting shredding waste from consoles around the building
Ordering stationery and cleaning supplies
Manual handling is required – training will be provided
Operating the mail inserting & franking machines as and when required
Distributing consumables for staff around the building, such as photocopy paper, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and crockery
Opening and sorting incoming post
Preparing and processing outgoing post
Bringing in deliveries and keeping post room tidy

About you

Experience of working as part of a team with tight turnaround times
Previous Facilities experience
Previous experience using hand & power tools
Understanding of Facilities & Building Services
Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer systems
Basic understanding of H&S
Knowledge of Hargreaves Lansdown and what we do
Experience of sorting post
GCSE/A-Level qualifications (or equivalent)
Excellent spoken and written English
Very good administration skills
Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise

Interview process

30 to 40 minutes competency-based interview.

Working Schedule

Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm. 37.5 hours a week
Overtime available over weekends
