About the role
Are you passionate about improving business processes and delivering value to customers? Do you have experience in applying lean, agile, and six sigma methodologies to optimize operational performance? If yes, then you might be the perfect candidate for the operational excellence senior specialist role at Haleon!
The Operational Excellence Senior Specialist will deploy and embed the HAPS (Haleon Performance System) principles at the site to deliver the Business Strategy, improve Business Performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale), and, using a data-driven approach, offer recommendations for improvement. The Operational Excellence Senior Specialist reports into the Site Operational Excellence Manager and will provide guidance to the site, lead projects across the operation, and offer recommendations for the business to operate more efficiently.
As the Operational Excellence Senior Specialist, you will develop, lead, and manage projects to reduce waste and improve efficiency and effectiveness of our operations on the manufacturing and packaging floor. You will also provide classroom trainings on Lean Manufacturing and lead deployment of the Haleon Performance System at the Saint Louis manufacturing plant.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and facilitating cross-functional improvement projects using data-driven approaches and tools
Coaching and mentoring teams and individuals on best practices for operational excellence and continuous improvement
Developing, implementing, and managing the main key performance indicators to facilitate the understanding and assessment of opportunities for projects
Identify and drive projects to reduce waste and variation within on our manufacturing and packaging operations using six sigma or lean methodologies
Liaise with operations stakeholders to design and embed effective visual performance management systems
Quantitate benefits associated with process improvement initiatives
Leads multifunctional teams to reduce waste and improve efficiency of the manufacturing and packaging lines
Creates Value Stream Maps in a complex manufacturing operation
Lead Kaizen events to improve efficiency and streamline processes
Train and develop employees on the lean manufacturing and six-sigma tools
Ensure that the safety, quality, and compliance requirements are well understood and applied by employees.
Ensure that continuous improvement and lean management initiatives are identified and implemented.
Optimize processes in the organizations procedures to create high performing team.
Supports deployment and execution of the Haleon Performance System (HAPS)
Embeds sites digital transformation plan by building sustainable PowerBI reports
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in engineering, science, business, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, engineering, or quality management roles
A certification in lean or six sigma
MSc, MSEng or PhD
Experience in managing technology or innovation roadmaps (preferred)
Experience in managing project teams or programs (preferred)
Experience in coaching or mentoring colleagues in lean or six sigma (preferred)
